Mayda Del Valle

Here's a dope poem from Mayda that she reads in the White House (wassup!) that is a good example of how to approach a homeland poem. You can write about your physical homeland, but Mayda takes on a more abstract idea of homeland by writing about her relationship to what her homeland is--especially in terms of her grandmother.
