First, I want to say ZataarDiva was a great read. I just read it in about 40 minutes while making dinner and overcooked my food because i had to finish it.

Feminism is apparent in Suheir 's poems about love and how women are treated by men. Especially how men treat women as sexual objects to be used. Her poetry shows that she has a lot of love to give and wants someone to give her equal love in return. One of my favorite poems was "land". I liked her comparison of lovers to hunters and farmers. She also has love for her brothers and family. This is where I see love as resistance as a theme in her work. She expresses love for her brother who is in the navy and will probably receive lots of racial hatred from others.
